Matt,

My requirement is i have 5 columns in a table,for example lets take a table TEST_TABLE with id, name, desc, col1, col2, col3. for Col1, col2,col3 i want to create a grid with 3 rows with dummy columns(i.e. 3 rows always should be there in grid), i don't want add rows button. but i will use custom processing to store value like this '1:2:3:4'

a1 a2 a3 a4 -> dummy cols

1 2 3 4 -> will be stored in col1 like (1:2:3:4)

3 4 5 6 -> will be stored in col2 like (3:4:5:6)

5 4 3 2 -> will be stored in col3 like (5:4:3:2)

Is it possible to have a grid with dummy cols like this? When no data in table, i will be having 3 rows with empty text field and when data is there in table, then i will be having 3 rows and the values should be bind with dummy cols.

Thanks

Adhi

Adhi,

I understand your question that you want to have 3 rows in your grid, no matter how many rows you have in your table. Possibly a grid on a collection would be the solution, where you add dummy-rows to the collection when there are no rows in the table, otherwise you insert the data from your table to the collection. At CRUD-Success (or another event) you update/insert the data from the collection to your table. An example for a grid on a collection is in the Demo-Application page 3011.

Regards Uli
